The Porceleyne Fles
:

Decor: Old Persian, High 33cm, Wide
18cm.Year: around 1915.
This vase is a little different than the ones normally seen from the
Porceleyne Fles.
At the time (around 1910) when the PZH (Plateelfabriek Zuid Holland)
invented a way to produce matte glazed Gouda pottery with a different look
and feel, also the Porceleyne fles tried new techniques to give their
product a different look.
This vase is one of the "New Delft" designs but somehow they were never
produced in big numbers, production stopped altogether around 1936. Also
the mark used is not the standard Porceleyne fles mark.
The vase is a nice example, of this "New Delft", softer Delft Blue
colours, and painted with more fuzzy paint strokes.
Leon Senf is credited with the design of this decor
The décor is called “Old Persian”, it was inspired by Islamic earthenware;
Iznik ceramics were made for centuries in Turkey.
