PBD = Plateel Bakkerij Delft
Decor: Rembrandt Year: 1910. High:
15cm. Wide: 15cm Painted
by: Nicolaas F L Oosterhoff.
A skilfully decorated tile after the
original painting by Rembrandt.
The original painting of this 83 year old lady (Aechje Claesdr) was
painted by Rembrandt in 1634. During most of the 1800's people believed
that this painting represented Rembrandt's mother. The painter of
this tile, Mr Oosterhoff, clearly believed in the company he worked for,
he bought the PBD pottery in 1923.
