De Distel.
Decor: Paijsage Year: early 1900's. High:
20cm. Wide: 20cm Painted
by: WvN = Willem Hendrik van Norden.
I grouped this vase with the Paysages because it is not a
fictitious painting.
The painter Willem van Norden is often praised for his fine quality art;
this is a nice example of that.
The decor is quite rare, I think it is the Distel's early version of
the Gouda landscape vases by the PZH which also started to appear from the
early 1900's.. In later years The Distel did produce other more common
landscape vases, like those by the PZH, but then on a white background. To see one click

displayed the front and back of the vase, there are also more sailing
vessels in between. Many Distel marks are partly pre-printed, this one (an
early one) is fully hand-written. M 31 stands for model 31.
