PBD = Plateel Bakkerij Delft
Decor: Bondsfeesten: 1906. High:
6.5cm. Wide: 14.5cm Painted
by: N = Willem Nales.
This PBD clog is really quite special because it seems to prove without doubt that so far all literature with regard to the dating of PBD pieces is out by 1 year.
According to the literature available, the letter "N" stands for 1907.
But this clog was painted by N = Willem Nales who worked for the PBD in 1906 (and not 1907).
And also look at the date painted on the back of the clog. This date says July 1906; this clog was likely issued together with these bond
celebrations.
The full text on the clog reads: " Herinnering aan de bondsfeesten Nederl: brood koek en banket bakkersbond 2 - 4 Juli 1906 Amsterdam".
According to the mark the clog was painted in June 1906, and presumably issued in July of the same year at the Amsterdam bread and bakeries union festivities.
