Model 309 Decor: Jakass = Jackass Year:
Around 1915. High: 31cm. Wide:
16cm Painted by: Dirk van der Starre.
Another Dutch Art Pottery vase. It is a bit harder to date this vase because there is no date mark and no painters initial. What seems to help in this case is that this model was phased out around 1915.
The other interesting thing is, that there are the misspelled words; i.e. Jakass Dutsch Art Potterie instead of Jackass Dutch Art Pottery. I have seen the same misspelled words on vases with painter initials DB. (=Dirk van der Bree) and also S (=Dirk van der Starre).
So it looks like that at the time they painted this vase that they did not know how to properly spell it in English. I like to think they knew better in 1917.
Based on the handwriting (a 100% match), this vase is painted by Dirk van der Starre.
