Above you see a small collection of
inkwells, all produced by the PZH pottery in the town of Gouda.
Even though they were produced in the same year there are many
differences; Different decors, shapes and glazing. The one on the right
was still produced in the older fashioned high glaze; this is what the
pottery used to produce in the earlier years. Around this time however,
matte glazed was taking over because it became more popular. The
different shapes are not limited to what you see above, many more shapes
and sizes can be found. But as for all Gouda around that time, it is
relatively scarce; you need to keep an eye open for it in case you want
it. I am sure that if you collect long enough, it would be possible to
build a nice collection of inkwells with many different looks, all that,
just out of the assortment made by the Gouda PZH pottery.
