This pot with lid was probably used as a biscuit barrel. Or possibly a
Tobacco jar. The pots normally used as a Tobacco jar have a somewhat
different shape.
Lidded vases like this, and then undamaged are really quite rare. Over the
years many of them have a broken lid or have damage around the
rim.
The colors used are quite strong and blend in well.
