      These clogs are the oldest in my collection and produced by the first
      companies to produce "Gouda" as it is now called. The clog on the left is
      from the Rozenburg pottery (1883-1916). The letters "NK" on the left
      indicate the year in which the clog was made; i.e. 1896. The clog on the
      right is from the Mijnlieff pottery in Utrecht, they started in 1893.
