Eskaf pottery
Decor: Year: around 1930. High:
7cm. Wide: 16cm Painted
by: LE?.
This one was made by the Eskaf factory. This company started production
shortly after the first world war but went broke a few years later,
probably due to the financial depression that followed worldwar one.
The factory was then purchased by its new owners and
they continued operations in a different location. That was
the town of Huizen. The reference to OLA is not a decor name,
but stands for "Orde van Levende Arbeid". This was a
type of labour union, where they tried to give employees a say
in the running of the factory. Unfortunately for them the depression was
not over quick enough, and they had to close their doors in the mid
1930's.
The pottery made by this factory had its own characteristic designs
with beautiful earthy colors. For another design from Eskaf
